My views on the efficacy of ideas – May 25, 2025
In the pursuit of meaning and solutions to real problems, man has devised ingenious ideas to solve the apparent and immediate problems of the human condition: such as modern medicine, technology to generally improve labour conditions, and an assortment of different mechanical modules to make communication over large distances posible etc., and to this extent there is such a thing as progress. But when in the pursuit of non-profane truths and deeper meanings that go beyond the material, modern man has completely failed to grasp the importance of observing the profound truths of life, and has instead resorted to either nihilism or "alternative" and materialistic pursuits to feed his soul. This is in fact the mark of a civilization in decline: where wisdom and sacred truths become ever more a fragment of the distant past, and something to be ridiculed and laughed at. By dismissing ancient ways and other ways of knowing, modern man has robbed himself of the connection to the past, and in his materialistic and nihilistic overindulgence he has even resorted to embrace the fruits of his own tragedy, in the form of his apparent and impending doom. This is surely not a sign of a healthy and thriving civilization.
Ideas, not the least so-called ideologies, have played a major part in fueling the loss of the sacred, and has instead ever more replaced the sacred and the natural order, with ideas such as individualism, the pursuit of selfish interests in a zero-sum game of the survival of the fittest and a general lack of compassion, often replaced with a completely false notion of empathy and humanism. This idea of humanism: that there's something great to be celebrated because human beings share the profane and the material in common is nothing but a complete and utter foolish exercise in degeneracy, as the true values of life, those of quality, further erodes in the name of ever greater quantities to replace the vastly superior qualities of life. Nay, this is no way to live, and as time goes on, this will surely become more apparent.
Ideas are important, and I am not dismissing ideas, but I am warning of the danger of allowing ideas to replace the ideal that is shaped by the limits of reality; ideas are not to be worshiped, they are to solve problems and to provide profound insight into the the world as it is and as it makes itself apparent. But modern man is increasingly losing his respect for nature and the sacred, by replacing his ideals with himself; this is nothing short of idolatry. But as I see it, the destruction of western civilization will bring forth a new time and a new era, and at that point men that are concerned with truth will take humanity into a new age of wisdom and profound truth.
Degeneracy, cultural decline, and overall contamination serve a purpose in the grand scheme of the universe and only time is wise enough to tell. But what is being labeled progress in the West, is nothing but a degeneration of man himself, a lowering of man to the level of the beast – to the level of animals.
