Ruination

Image
Painting by Arthur William Heintzelman Ruination | Friday – May 1, 2026 R uination indeed – that is the way of the world in this 21st century. Everything keeps getting ruined and worse, at least this is how I see the world, and perhaps this is why this post should belong to my " Personal Notes series "? No, It will not, but that would be a great idea, though not in line with my intentions.     The threat of a looming ruination is of course nothing new, at least not during the current deviation, and if you do not contribute your work and your "hard earned money", read "Gold", then you are out of luck I guess. See, the politicians will never cease to attempt to ruin the world further, because that is the only thing politicians know how to do – to cause great ruin. All of these ideas, ideologies , never seem to actually improve anything do they? Of course not, but people are stupid and feeble enough to still subscribe to this identity , because this is very ...

The Problem of Borders

Image
Hindu ( ॐ ) depiction of Vishnu ( विष्णु ) as Varaha ( वराह ) slaying Banasur ( बाणासुर ) The Problem of Borders | Thursday – April 30, 2026 B orders define our world, particularly international borders, largely because the modern mentality in its attempt to quantify everything within reach of the sensible leans into compartmentalization of all kinds, read particularly " Nation-States ".      For every quality that the moderns attempt to quantify, they have to impose limitations, and while they may seem arbitrary, which they are in a way, they are actually necessary, because if something is supposedly quantifiable, there must exist some number or some representation in the number plane that describe the outer limit, usually a lower and upper limit or bound, of the object in question, the object in view, and even if it is quite impossible to reach an exact and stable number or representation, it is often more than adequate to take the limits and allow the extension of th...

What is Respect?

Image
Banners for boys' day festival By Utagawa Kuniyoshi ( 歌川 国芳 ) What is Respect? Wednesday – April 29, 2026 R espect is one of those words that seem to apply in a rather peculiar way: should a thief show some kind of respect to his victims; should certain criminals be respected, while certain other criminals should expect no consideration, no respect, at all, etc?      Indeed, respect is a funny thing, a funny concept that seems to be a fairly loud expression of the modern deviation , particularly of individualism and a kind of American individualism . There are of course many other implications here: of course the humanist notion of individualism plays the biggest role, read " My Views on the 'Rights of Man'" , and I guess most other things in the modern world tend to be derived from this notion; in fact, it is actually quite hard to separate anything from the notion of individualist humanism; you see this everywhere, and I guess this is why the quantitative poin...

Observations About the World, Part Thirty

Image
Photograph of the Atlas globe Cynicism | Tuesday – April 28, 2026 C ynics and cynicism all over the place! Indeed, the world is full of it and it seems quite strange, at least from a material point of view, read " The Efficacy of Ideas ". I mean, there are so many fat and addicted people all over the place, how come they are so cynical? Did people used to be this cynical in the past? First of all, yes it should be taken as an overall sign of our times that people are cynical, and of course cynicism and sentimentalism go hand in hand... But the entire assumption that only "bad" guys can win, read " Directing Films ", is very salient today. Brutality, realism, or perhaps brutalism? Why not, why not another one of those isms? Well, there are of course plenty of those around so I should think that there is no problem for me to add another one. Movies are so full of themselves, and so full of this kind of lazy and truly evil and very much offensive and dista...

Rest

Image
Narayana ( नारायण ) resting on Adhishesha ( आदिशेष ), with his consort Lakshmi ( लक्ष्मी ) massaging his feet Rest | Monday – April 27, 2026 T he Pacific Sleeper Shark has a very, to me , delightful name. I suspect that the Pacific Sleeper Shark is restful, but the naming of this shark may also be completely random, and in that case I suspect that the Pacific Sleeper Shark may or may not be restful, and probably not more or less restful than most other shark species. But why is the name "Pacific Sleeper Shark" delightful to me? Well, this question is actually quite straightforward to answer: I like peace , after all I subscribe to the concept of " Radical Peace "; but I also like sleeping and deep rest, because I know, through intuition, that sleep and rest are very important, and without them you are just not going to be able to live a good life; really, without rest you will soon fade away, and in this regard you may trust or distrust me, but if you trust profane ...

Personal Note XLV

Yahweh in  (יהוה‎) : Moses and the Burning Bush My Views on Extreme Weather Events | Sunday – April 26, 2026 E xtreme weather events (EWEs) are seemingly more common these days, and I thought that this subject should belong to this series, " Personal Notes series ", because actually this is quite a personal topic for me. Before I go on I should inform you that you may read more about this and similar topics here .     Yes, it does seem that extreme weather is more common today, at least according to the data, but what are even EWEs? Well, EWEs, I refuse to use the entire term everywhere, are basically weather that people are unused to, such as floods, hailstorms, strong winds such as hurricanes and typhoons, etc; although I should add that just because people may be unfamiliar with some weather, this alone does not make it extreme, at least not according to intuition, but yes, there are measurable and quantitative indications that the way certain weathers occur more frequ...

Gold

Image
The Trimurti - Shiva ( शिव ), Vishnu ( विष्णु ), and Brahma ( ब्रह्मा ) Gold | Saturday – April 25, 2026 G old and its many sides. Well, actually gold has only one side, but more on that later... Why then should I bring up gold? Well, there are many reasons why I should bring up gold and quite frankly they are too many to enumerate here, but first of all I should mention that gold did not always use to be the most highly valued metal, here valued as in its essential characteristics, and this was particularity the case in the East, but even in the West it took a long time before gold became the "standard". Since most people only have a very materialistic and capitalistic understanding of gold and its value it can be quite hard to define the essential and sacred value of gold, but before I can do that I must emphasize that what is being dealt with hear is actually a much larger question about metallurgy and, again, the fact is that the importance of gold is a fairly recent dev...

Is the Future the Enemy?

Image
Durga ( दुर्गा ) Slaying the Buffalo Demon, Raktabij ( रक्तबीज ) Is the Future the Enemy? Friday – April 24, 2026 F uture or futures ? No, there is no such thing, and to some extent it would be appropriate to treat the "future" as your enemy, but before I can explain why I encourage you to read my post about the subject of " Enemies "; that post deals with enemies in a less abstract manner.     Yes, to put it thusly: the future is your enemy because you have no hope in the future, unless of course you are thinking about the remote future, read " Disintegration ", but for the most part, do you believe, really, that your life will somehow improve during the course of this century, during the course of this cycle? If you do, then you are quite frankly lost and probably hopeless, and you are squarely in the ranks of the aimless masses, read about that here . But allow me to put this proposition in a more blunt manner: in the future you are dead , long dead, an...

Beauty Standards

Image
A rare example of a Shakta Ardhanarishvara ( अर्धनारीश्वर ) Hindu ( ॐ ) depiction Beauty Standards | Thursday – April 23, 2026 H ahahahahaha! Beauty standards ... HA HA HA HA HA! What a joke and what a big fat lie, and yes I used the word fat for a reason. There are no beauty standards, at least not in the year of our lord 2026. But since I brought up fat people , or the word fat to be precise, I suppose that it should be just as well for me to point out that the vast majority of people are fat, and if you consider this a beauty standard, then you have very low standards, and actually those standards do not qualify, read more about that here .     Recently I wrote about anorexia again, which I must say is a funny subject to be right about, and I have been thinking more about fat people and skinny people, and how they relate to the essential side and substantive side of life, and yes it is pretty obvious that fat people are quite substantive. I can go on, but I am not a hater,...
