My views on The Church of Christ, Scientist (Christian Science) – August 27, 2025

On a personal level I hold the late Mrs. Mary Baker Eddy in high regard and I believe that she discovered a profound insight into the human mind, and I believe her application of mesmeric truth on the disease process as a mere illusion was essentially right, but I also hold that there indeed is such a thing as the material, and while according to the Christian metaphysical tradition and scripture man is created in the image of God, I hold that the indeed epic and amazing circumstance that mankind is created not only by the creator but in the image of the creator does not exclude the possibility and indeed the reality of adverse material circumstances, something that I have covered on multiple occasions, and indeed humanity also according to the Christian metaphysical tradition and scripture are deserving of their material circumstances, the human condition. It is surely also the case that disease and illness can be prevented with material solutions such as the advent of modern medicine, for this fact I find no reason beyond material reason itself to deny, and indeed modern medicine will on many occasions work the wonder to defeat the disease process, mesmeric as though it may or may not be. I hold that disease and illness is the consequence of the wrath of the creator our Jehovah, but indeed some people are and will be more affected by disease and illness than others, and while the tradition of Christian Science holds that this would be due to the individual contributions and peculiarities facing each man in his illness and disease, I think it is also the case that many men of good and upstanding moral character have been struck down in this untimely manner, and that it is not always clear that a man can be blamed for his particular disease process, but that he rather has fallen victim to the nature of the modern world, and as such we have seen that the consequences can be and have been dire, and indeed the consequences further will be more dire and the wrath of the creators our Jehovah's divine vengeance will intensify as well. I can therefore not do more than to conclude that I have neither eyes to see nor ears to hear the disease and the illness, and if it is the case that the fundamental principles of Christian Science are true, I will heel and I will repent and I will call on each man to embrace Mrs. Eddy's teachings, but of this I know nothing of, or at the very least I know nothing of the distinction between modern medicine, which can only be said to be a highly material enterprise, and the enterprise of Christian Science in the healing of many sick and diseased men. Indeed, could it be a miracle of divine intervention? Again, of this I do not know, but I am sure that the always quick-witted and crude serpent will dismiss the teachings of the fundamental principles of Christian Science as "hogwash", "rubbish", and "humbug". But as I stated, I am a fan of the late Mrs. Mary Baker Eddy, and I do believe that she gained insight into a profound part of this our existence that can only be said to have been beyond the material, and indeed this is likely the cause of her frank and strong apprehension to the material world itself, and indeed this is shown in her courage when she stood up to the men that attempted to dismiss her teachings after the tragic passing of her third husband from what was called cardiovascular disease, but Mrs. Eddy remained convinced that Asa G. Eddy had died from poison, mesmerizing poison of the kind that was not material but indeed spiritual and hidden in nature, a form of malign spiritual warfare, likely against her entire enterprise as a person of ascendant rank. Exactly who it was that could have directed this wrath against Mrs. Eddy I know not of, but my guess is that if it was the case that Asa G. Eddy was indeed poisoned, it was likely not one single person that directed this malign influence against Mrs. Eddy, but rather the aggregate frustration with her from the many beasts walking among her, and indeed back in those times there were fewer beasts to contend with, and as a result their malign influence may have been weaker in strength than it is today.
If suffering is a divinely ordained part of the human condition, it can be expected that men should fall ill to disease, and that this is, or would rather be simply a natural part of the nature of providence, and that indeed the time of some men have come, regardless of the efficacy of modern medicine or indeed the principles of Christian Science; it is simply the case that even when the possibility of witchcraft and other malign influences are controlled for, some men will still be struck down as part of the divinely inspired providence governing the material domain and all life in the material domain. Can any man be said to be completely immune from the ravages of disease and illness but the creator, all of our Jehovah? I think not, and if I am wrong I will surely be violently surprised and I will call on every man to apply the principles of The Church of Christ, Scientist to their own lives and to the lives of their prodigy and their entire society, for that would be truly revolutionary, but since I regard that possibility as something quite impossible I shall continue to wait for the proof, and it is not my responsibly to disprove anything as a skeptic, a skeptic of everything mind you. Overall, I must admit that I am a fan of the principles of Christian Science, but I do remain skeptical for I do not believe that every ailment and every disease is meant to be cured. What then is death? From the point of view of Christian Science there indeed is no such thing as death, and this I am in agreement with, for death can be thought of as an illusion or as a non-state, and therefore death is also not real. Verily, death is a phenomena in the material domain, but many things are true in the material domain without being true in the sacred and the transcendental arena, and in this sense Christian Science can be thought of as an enterprise that can help men to gain superior knowledge and insight into the many parts of the Universe and the creation; indeed to look beyond the profane. But Christian Science is also just one aspect of looking beyond the profane, and there are surely many more ways of transcending beyond the material world.

To conclude this post, I will end by saying that if you regard yourself to be a Christian Scientist that you may be on your way to earn the ascendant rank and you are surely far more enlightened than the vast majority of men in the modern world. I also believe that men like
Phineas Parkhurst Quimby, that helped lay the foundations of Christian Science can be thought of with Mrs. Eddy as master teachers sent down to the Earth by the creator in times of great tribulation and great strife, and they acted, often unknowingly, as ambassadors for the creator on Earth, to show man that something else, something beyond the profane was indeed possible, whether this extended to illness or something else. But in the modern day, I fear that the moral boundaries of the universe have been so far removed that even such people, if they were to show up in this latest iteration, would be more dismissed than those of Mrs. Mary Baker Eddy & co. Indeed, such people would be laughed at and mocked, but the Bible also tells the followers of Christ to expect this treatment, for the man that carries the righteous message will be challenged and the serpent will act through these the beast, and that's why the beast knows not of what he is doing. I also want to continue to call on all far-seeing to embrace sexual and moral purity – become celibate and do not allow your sacred virginity to be challenged.
