Destruction!
Wednesday – January 7, 2026

Destruction is a much needed aspect of the material domain, for without it nothing good could come, and every good quality in the world would slowly fade into obscurity, hidden away forever and lost to history, and really history itself would die. I have covered some aspects of this cosmic force in my post about "Crime and metaphysics", that deals with this aspect of the material domain in the everyday life of ordinary men. In this post I intend to widen the scope to also include the nature of our cyclical order and the fact that we are living in the dark ages – the Kali Yuga.
Indeed, destruction is a force for good, and yes this might be hard for most ordinary and modern men to understand; after all the entire enterprise that is the modern world, the materialist order, seems geared towards the eradication of true knowledge, really an attempt to solve the human condition all together, and within this material framework destruction cannot fit in; well, destruction only as so as it does not serve the interest of modern civilization that is. In order for something to be essentially good and essentially apparent in the world it has to begin somewhere, but in the course of history this aspect or quality has to move somewhere and that somewhere is more often than not downwards, towards destruction and obscurity, and one way to really conceptualize this in modern times is the tendency of every aspect of life to become materialized and quantified, all in order to keep up modern civilization; really this is a corruption of knowledge and applied means, a loss of skills. This terminal and final phase of the Kali Yuga is surely a strange aberration from the normal and the natural, but this does serve a cosmic purpose and in the end this cycle will reach its close, likely in the form of a cataclysmic event, and for most modern men the thought of western civilization being destroyed would be enough to conjure up images of the destruction of the world. This is indeed no strange thing: modern men are essentially beasts, and they've completely lost touch with ancient and primordial truths; to them the only thing that makes sense and can make sense is materialism. What is reaching its conclusion is the material civilization, but this will still take some time. Destruction is this context serves two opposite purposes: on one hand destruction has served for some time now, to obscure and destroy men's knowledge of primordial wisdom; and secondly as the world moves away from the source and enters into a material world order, that world order encourages and promotes forces that will set in motion the destruction of this world order, and this can be conceptualized as Kali, the goddess of destruction in Hindu mythology. Destruction can and does serve a good purpose as well as a bad, but just because the purpose is good or bad, that doesn't make the force itself good or bad; destruction is an innate and necessary part of the cosmic order, and it serves to balance the scales of the celestial order, to restore and recreate a certain equilibrium, that when pushed too hard in one or the other direction will promote forces that will serve to oppose this move, something that can be observed in modern and profane science as well. I want to again further clarify, especially in relation to my post on "Crime and metaphysics", that the criminal himself is not good—criminals constitute a deprived and morally diseased element in any society—but his actions serve as a necessary force, and in this regard he acts as an agent of cosmic disorder, but nonetheless a needed such agent; without these agents of destruction and disorder society would simply fall into complete disarray and disharmony, which then would serve the same purpose as that of societies criminal elements. Indeed, the fact that most modern men have no conception of this should come as no surprise, because again their only goal is to avoid the nature of the world by basically replacing the laws of nature with their own infrastructure, modern civilization, an enterprise that really has grown its own life and appetite. Yes, you may say that modern civilization has grown into a beast – an aberration and a numerical monster.
Yes, destruction is fundamentally a force for good, but the means under which this force are delivered may not be good, but the change and really rearrangement of conditions, often in an adverse way, is a necessary and good feature of the world, really a sign of the creator's divinely inspired love. I believe that an example of this that could be considered poignant in modern times would be this: in order to treat a cancer you often need to deliberately destroy and hurt the body, but in the end this destruction, partial destruction, of the body serves an overall purpose that is good and was necessary; something had to oppose the destructive force of the cancer, and from a cosmological point of view destruction begets destruction; only a force that is willing to use fire and fury can be useful in the destruction of fire. Would a man incapable of self-defense be considered good enough of a man to defend himself and his honor? No, either because the man in the example lacks means or because he is no warrior, and indeed only very few men can truly be considered warriors, and if there is anything a warrior should be able to do, it is to seek to destroy, and this can be thought of as the opposite intention of Radical Peace, even though both of these modes of being produce the same result – the destruction of evil.
In the end, only time can tell, but the forces of destruction serve a much needed purpose, and to that end they are not bad, even though again the particular way in which they are delivered can be bad, such as in the case of the criminal.
