Diseases, read "My Views on Disease and Decay", and their cures... Well, this is quite an amusing topic to me, especially as the cures are getting alarmingly and increasingly fantastic. How do profane science attempt to cure diseases such as cancer? By trying to rearrange the fundamentals of the universe, by trying to force a change that will invariably serve to denature the very thing it purports to cure, or seek to cure; really by moving atoms out or into place. This is how low profane science has dug itself, really down to the pit. Now and of course, many times these "medications" will not work, and this is also quite amusing, if we for one moment put the fact that people are dying aside, because then doctors and profane scientists will give the patient a prognosis. Yes, here again we see prognostication and conjecture rear its ugly head and the materialism of some kind of misguided belief in free will. We are also dealing with a lot of individualism when it comes to disease and really the modern disease progress, read "My Views on the Progress Maxim", for today we are mostly made to believe that we are the sole cause of our own demise and that there are certain actions that we can take, before it is too late that is, to prevent this always untimely demise. Yes, to become sick is very much an individual experience in this our 21st century. There are even programs that you can attend or follow, like courses, that are structured to help "guide" you out of your unhealthy habits, often obesity, and people will pay for these courses, in the belief that they will be cured, and in the hope that they can control their will. Now, the fact is that if you have gained fat, read about "fatness", you have already shown that you do not possess the will to become this way, and then there are other "exterior" factors, but because we are living in a world of hyper individualism, all the interior factors are easily pointed out, while everything exterior is disregarded. So, people end up with diseases, diseases that themselves are caused by the modern way of life, and instead of admitting that the modern world has caused much of this disease, people will go on to proclaim that indeed, the modern world has caused much of this disease, but instead of doing anything about that, the focus remains on the individual existence. People are leading lives completely separate and parallel to each other, as if there was no such thing as common humanity, yet the proponents of the humanist axiom keep telling us that we must embrace more tolerance for each other, as if this will solve anything. No, when you develop on of these diseases of abundance, you will have to treat the situation yourself and you will essentially become walled off from the rest of society, from the rest of the world, and you will be treated as if you are in some kind of struggle, because they are quick to refer to your disease process as a "struggle", instead of recognizing that indeed, there is nothing to be struggled with: when your body is diseased, it has simply entered a more acute and accelerated phase of living, and you may choose to refer to this as a "struggle", but that would be a misapplication of that word, since there is an absence of something to struggle with. Did you choose your disease? Well, they may tell you that indeed, you choose your disease because of your lifestyle, but what about the civilization that has promoted such a lifestyle? Is that civilization never to blame? It seems to me that we are living in a diseased civilization, when we may not choose to not develop advanced diseases that require fantastical treatments to be cured, and then most people die anyways.

    Consider again cancer, that disease is not really one disease, it is several diseases under an umbrella term called "Cancer", but really the only thing that appears to be the "common denominator" when it comes to these diseases is that they began as one cell that acquired many mutation and that eventually has developed along the course of out of control multiplication, and because the cells cannot kill themselves, they cannot enter into autolysis, they continue to live and grow and take up more and more resources, until they start to metastasis and spread to the rest of the body, until you die. Now, would it be quite right to describe this process of decay and rot, the result of a parasite? I suppose yes and no: yes, because the cancer cells behave like a parasite, but then again the cancer cells originate in your body and not from the outside; and no, because the cancer cells are doing what they are supposed to do, they may not know that what they are doing is killing you. I suppose too, that it would be fair to describe cancer as a parasite from a societal point of view: one may view cancer as a parasite because you are now suffering as a result of the civilization that you are living in, and because of the anti-choices that you have been given; freedom does not matter at all when all things are considered, and you know it, even though you are likely to say otherwise.

    So, how do profane science go about treating this disease of tumors, this cancer? Well, for one cancers are not one disease, as I mentioned above, and some cancers are so divergent from other cancers that they are practically completely different pathologies all together.* At any rate, once a disease such as cancer has been "established" by a doctor trained in the profane sciences, the "patient" must undergo some kind of treatment, unless the cancer has been deemed to now exist in a terminal stage, which brings me to the concept of staging: cancers exist in at least 4 stages: stage 1, the cancer can often be treated surgically and it is easy to survive, and often the cancer is in a kind of primordial state; stage 2, the cancer is larger and may now be able to reach into the blood vessels, but overall the tumor is still localized and remains stable; stage 3, here is where the "prognosis" is starting to crash and subsequently the death rate is starting to rise, because now the cancer has started to spread to nearby tissues; and finally stage 4, the cancer is now, for all intents and purposes, incurable and it has spread to distant tissues and organs in the body, and we may now conclude the approximate cause of death for the patient, the so-called "patient" I should add.† This is perhaps where "holistic medicine" has a point: it would do the patient good to treat him not as a separate unit completely isolated from his surroundings, but very much as part of his own "ecosystem", as an inseparable part of the many ways that lead to him, and it is first in this realization where it becomes meaningful to start to treat people as "individuals", in order to actually understand the causes that lead up to this moment. But modern medicine and profane science simply discards this information, choosing to instead treat the disease aggressively until it no longer can be treated, which is why we are now approaching ever more absurd means of treating cancer and many other diseases I should add.

    Now, I choose to refer to cancer in this post, but there are a plethora of diseases that are now being uncovered, and some of them are caused by infectious agents (pathogens), while others are caused by the body itself, such as cancer, heart disease, and diabetes, etc. The common thread is that many of these diseases are getting harder and harder to treat, and instead of taking a step back and trying to actually figure out the road to these diseases, the focus remains on aggressive treatment, and treatment often when it is too late, when the disease has progressed too far. There is also an annoying focus on lifestyle whenever the road to disease is being considered, instead of a holistic and all encompassing view; essentially, the narrow minded outlook on aggressive treatment is still being utilized for understanding the pathology as well, and so we may never quite reach a true resolution. Why do some people develop venereal disease? Yes, because they have acted with lewd conduct, but also because they now live in a society and a world where it is expected to develop venereal disease, almos as a kind of rite of passage. Indeed, we now expect it to be quite normal to develop disease; we often do not even bother to prevent the development of diseases, because everything under the sun must be tolerated.
