What is disability?

Image
Javanese Wayang kulit ( ꦮꦪꦁꦏꦸꦭꦶꦠ꧀ ) shadow puppet What is disability? Sunday – February 1, 2026 Why are so many modern people disabled? Or perhaps I should rephrase the question: why do so many people today claim to be disabled? Well, before I can answer that question I should clarify that there are people who are disabled, and that yes disability can come in both mental and physical form, something you may read about here and here . But apart from people who are actually disabled, the vast majority of people who claim to be "disabled" are in fact no such thing, or at the very least the so-called disability these people supposedly suffer from seems to be illusory, and really just the latest expression of modern confusions . For instance: what does it mean to be "neurodivergent"? Well, in fact there's no such word, as far as I am aware, because that term, neurodivergent, is a new word and also very much a political term—read more about political objects in my ...

Yahweh in  (יהוה‎) : Moses and the Burning Bush Why I rise again | Saturday – January 31, 2026 The other day I wrote that I tend to be 100% wrong in matters of temporal magnitude, you may read that post here , but I failed to qualify or explain why this is true, but before I can explain why I tend to be 100% wrong within the confines of the material domain, I must first explain why I rise again. Yes, I did also give a metaphysical explanation having to do with such things as lack of proper knowledge and skill , but I have decided that I also need to provide a material description.     See, when most people are wrong about something, here I am again referring exclusively to temporal matters, they tend to be very quick sorted and often they give up, and this is understandable, and yes on many occasions in life it is proper to give up, not because you are weak but precisely because of the skillful realization that you are wasting time and effort on something that is futile;...

100% wrong – freestyle

Image
"Balance" by Rob Wicks 100% wrong | Friday – January 30, 2026 In temporal matters, at any rate, I am 100% wrong 100% of the time. Well, I guess I could qualify this initial sentence by stating that I am 99.9% sure of that statement, but this means that there's a 100% chance that the 1% chance of me being wrong is true. I guess that's true, but forget about the semantics and the numbers for a while: look, I suck at most things and it's true, I am almost always 100% wrong, and this has meant for me that in most cases I've had to basically begin to solve a problem by first doing the wrong thing, and then doing the wrong thing again, until I'm eventually forced to solve the problem. I guess this is why I'm good at solving equations? Well, I guess I'm not good at solving equations. But I want to keep being serious here, I am not good at anything almost, so I guess you can say that if I state something, that you probably should do the very opposite thing...

Working out

Image
Indonesian landscape painting By I. Tomblos Working out | Thursday – January 29, 2026 In my post " Should you exercise? ", I wrote that you should exercise, and this is still my view, but I felt it necessary to qualify this standpoint. See, by exercising I am not merely referring to physical exercise, but really to exercising in general, but yes that post, I don't remember that much of it, seems to mostly focus on physical exercise. I do need to add this: I see no reason for a man to ever wish to go to one of these modern, hip, and progressive "gyms", spaces that can only really be described as a meeting for bizarre and almost histrionic people; no a man in his right mind should want no such company. Apart from being a space or a spot where very strange and often sexually deviant persons meet, the gym appears to be a very progressive space, and indeed the entire concept of physical exercise is a progressive notion, and to any man in previous generations the co...

Agenda 2030

Image
Photograph of the World Economic Forum By Evangeline Shaw Agenda 2030 | Wednesday – January 28, 2026 What is "Agenda 2030"? Well, according to the UN (the United Nations), agenda 2030 is a framework meant to promote "sustainable" environmental and economic development, supported by organizations such as the WEF (the World Economic Forum). But what does this actually mean in practice? Well, I will answer that question later, but just allow me to present the substance of these claims made by the UN and the WEF, claims about global warming and climate change , but also claims about developmental "equity". The main issue of the day, at least this used to seemingly be the case, is " global warming ", and while global warming and climate change are real hurdles that humanity will face, both of these organizations fail to understand the real and very much metaphysical reasons for these changes, and instead they resort to the usual tactic of material div...

Politicians

Image
Capitolio, Cuba by Louis Renaudineau Politicians | Tuesday – January 27, 2026 Do you believe that politicians will solve your problems ? If you do, you are mistaken, and this is certainly the case when it comes to metaphysical questions, but even when it comes to the multitudes and ever growing material problems you face, politicians will not and cannot do anything to solve them for you. The entire idea that a politician, through the state of course, should act to solve another mans material problems is just fantastical to begin with, but within democracies most people seem to believe this, which is yet another proof of why democracy can never actually work in practice, and it's also a proof of how stupid the vast majority of people actually are; indeed, talk about "regression towards the means", and in this context that's not a good thing. You see, human beings have "evolved", it's claimed, to be adaptable, and this basically means that by virtue of th...

Observations about the world, part twenty-one

Photograph of the Atlas globe Video killed the radio star... Monday – January 26, 2026 Yes, video did indeed kill the radio star, and at the moment the internet is killing the television "star", if you will, or really the movie star, and all other people who make money on television, and this is in keeping with my post " The end of history ". Today, people are using the internet more and more to entertain themselves and "gather" information about the world, and I have no intention of writing about this phenomena, but I do find interest in understanding how this "evolution" is taken as granted; after all humanity is just becoming. The next movie star will still be a movie star, but an "internet movie star". What will come after the internet? The future only knows... But I do think that the internet can be used for whatever good that it can provide. Look, I am currently relying on the internet, and that's because I have decided to app...

Anorexia and the body

Image
Statuette by Marek Pavlík Anorexia and the body | Sunday – January 25, 2026 In my posts about fatness and obesity, which you can read here and here , I made the case that the modern world is remarkable in how it has managed to completely invert normal hierarchies , even to the extent that people in adverse material circumstance tend to be fatter and more "well nourished" in the 21st century, a completely new phenomena, really a hyper-modern phenomena; really nothing of this sort has been recorded at any other point in human history. This means that people are not only worse of metaphysically in the 21st century than at any other point in history, but most people are also worse off materially, which again seems remarkable, since most people can claim all sorts of materialist "benefits" today, but sure enough these material so-called "benefits" are really of no use to people, unless you count obesity as a "benefit". Why have I chosen to label my h...

Yahweh in  (יהוה‎) : Moses and the Burning Bush My views on "Genius" | Saturday – January 24, 2026 In modern times it's commonplace to consider certain persons to be "geniuses" and great thinkers, as if these people had some unique ability to come up with complex ideas that somewhat well correlates with the conditions of reality, and if a man is able to achieve this he is thought of and remembered as a genius; someone that had an above average ability to contend with ideas . I reject this concept for many reasons, and they are too numerous to list here, but my biggest reason why I reject the concept of a genius is simply because ideas cannot be owned by a single man nor can a single man out of nowhere, out of the cosmic flux, invent new ideas or new knowledge . Indeed, in the realm of ideas there are only two possibilities: either an idea is correct or the idea is incorrect, and since most ideas are incorrect most "geniuses" are eventually proved incor...

Never trust your body!

Image
Vishnu ( विष्णु ) as Viśvarūpa ( भगवद्गीता ) Never trust your body! Friday – January 23, 2026 In Hindu mythology the concept of Advaita Vedānta ( अद्वैत वेदान्त ) means "not-two", and from a metaphysical point of view this concept is basically the negation of the material delineation between the self and the world, Atman ( आत्मन् ); really one could describe this concept as the ontological opposite of the concept of individualism, but describing the  Advaita Vedānta in this way is surely not very skillful , but then again, the English language is profoundly void of metaphysical and intellectual depth , and this lack of meaning is by design. Yes, I would even go as far as to describe the English language as a monstrous bastard of linguistic cosmopolitanism; English is inseparable from the cultural chaos that is inherent in this worldview, read multiculturalism . But this post is not about the English language, so allow me to turn back to the subject at hand: why you ...

Imagination

Image
Imagination by Wolfgang Hasselmann Imagination | Thursday – January 22, 2026 Is imagination important? Well, the short answer is yes, but the longer answer requires more nuance. Is imagination important? Yes, but sometimes imagination can distort reality, and this is a topic that I have mentioned in my post on " imagination enhancers ". I do like to escape into imaginary world, and I believe that for the most part doing this is helpful, because it can provide me with a sense of security. The problem, form a metaphysical standpoint, is this: it's not good to allow imaginary world to become your home; if you don't live in reality then you will constantly set yourself up for failure, but of course in modern times it is easier and easier to live in an imaginary world because the means of doing so, technological, have increased our ability to allude reality, and this is, indeed must, be feature of the material order . I believe that playing games is a great example of livi...
