Qualification |

Qualification is one of those words that have truly lost their meaning here in "modern times", and I believe that the best description for this true loss of meaning is degradation. Indeed, the concept of being qualified means nothing in the modern world, and to the moderns qualification is not something to be earned, it's something to be gained in some material pursuit, and of course the egalitarian assumption, as usual, is that any man can gain this "qualification". Qualification is also something quite connected to the modern concept of education and accreditation, always in the profane sciences, and this false qualification, again accreditation, is not based on sacred rites and truly knowledge, it's based on the mechanisms of education turning out "professional" individuals whom, they claim, are to be "differentiated" in the "arts" of the material order, but really these people are almost identical, and identity, uniformity, is where the modern world is tending, read "Transhumanism". Is a medical professional, for instance, qualified in the sciences of anatomy and medicine? No, medical professionals are merely accredited in the field of numerical application and manipulation, quantification with the specialization of medical application, but in no way does this bastardization of knowledge constitute true qualification. Indeed, the same is true for all professions, compartmentalized and specialized as they are uniform in almost all aspects when you actually consider them, but this is the general tendency of our times, the Kali Yuga, and the very same quantitative tendency is true for all aspects of the social organization. Why are people living inside apartments? Individualism and division, really this is the only thing you get in the modern world and this is no kind of unity. Of course, the scholars would refer to this tendency as the uniformity of quantification. It should also be stated that true qualification is something that is earned by the Artifex, thus every true Artifex can be said to be a master of his own domain and as such he is the creator of a masterpiece, but more on this later.
I believe that an example of true qualification is the art of literature where there's a very significant difference between illustration and lexical and mechanical recitation of information. Most modern literature is industrial, mass produced, profane, and almost empty of any true essence, any true meaning, and this is why most modern literature can be said to be situated at the substantive pole of existence, as opposed to the essential pole of existence, but of course, there's no true discontinuity between the two, here there are tendencies where modern literature tends towards the substantial side, that is to say descends from essence downward, and where some literature still tends towards the essential pole of existence. These tendencies can of course be noted throughout history and I would be remiss if I fail to point out the influence of the nation-state in this connection and the need to rectify the informational flow, or rather to standardize the language, and if you will to mass produce the language so that the information carried in each syllable, in each unit of language, is made available to the masses, to the people, and is able to mobilize "democratic discourse". This is why grammar replaced verse, because language had to be made "simple" (exoteric) and available to the mass, as the mass is the necessary/core component in the material order. Indeed, one can conceptualize this polarity by assuming that poetry tends to be situated at the essential pole of existence and that the converse is true for prose, that prose is situated at the other end, the substantial pole, of existence, and truly since the advent of mass produced writing in the 13th century, a very significant century, prose has completely saturated the informational landscape and enabled a bastardization of the art of literature. Literature used to be an art and the writer was a master of literature, but in modern times the difference between speech and literature has almost been completely erased, another stark example of quantification and the tendency towards simplification. Can one really speak of a qualified reader in modern times? Indeed, not only was the writer a master, but the reader was also a master in his own right, as it required qualification to read, to "consume", if you will, literature. So, modern literature, for the most part, can truly be called egalitarian or democratic, available to the masses and produced for the benefit of the material order, truly an industry of maximizing the literary substance, and conversely minimizing the literary essence. What matters in modern literature is not quality, in the true sense of the word, but quantity, quantity across all dimensions: really each syllable has to carry as much information as possible and each syllable has to follow grammatical rules, mathematical patterns, so as to condition the reader in a way so the maximization of literary substance can be conveyed in the most effective and efficient way possible – a true monstrosity.
Verily, modern literature seeks to describe the world in mechanical terms of quantity and substance, truly to descend to the lowest level of words, to strip meaning of character, essence, to quantify essence. And yes, this kind of literature is political, for it caters to the least capable, to the most incompetent, truly to the least qualified. Modern literature is public and available and can, as previously stated, be understood by the last qualified, the masses, and this is the true purpose of modern literature, and as literature becomes degraded and striped of meaning it also loses more and more of its essence, and consequently there are fewer and fewer truly skilled and qualified writers and readers, the literary elite, or the inner circle. This is why the word "illustration" was mentioned before, because the defining feature of poetry, of literary quality, is its capacity to illustrate, to transcend beyond words, to ascend above the mechanical, the public, the immediate, the available, the material, and the profane, really to elude the masses; qualified literature is sacred and requires suprahuman knowledge, true intellectuality, and is esoteric in its secrecy, and this secrecy can only be transmitted through qualification. It should be noted that qualified literature as well as profane literature are both anonymous, but for opposing reasons: qualified literature requires true qualification, skilled reading, in order to penetrate the core (esoterism), thus is only available in the unity of true knowledge at the summit of the metaphysical order; and profane literature is anonymous in its lack of essence and its increasingly indiscernible, form all other profane literature, nature, profane literature is drowned in its mass and volume, in its ugly monstrosity; truly this is why qualified literature is masterful and why profane literature is incompetent.
I believe that the example of literary degeneration demonstrates the case made at the outset of this post: accreditation, professionalism, specialization, all in the modern conception, have nothing to do with true qualification, and the more I go on about this subject the more I can put this difference between quality and quantity into pairs opposing terms: quality vs. quantity, essence vs. substance, secret vs. public, artifex vs. industry, elite vs. mass, anonymity vs. the indiscernible, masterful vs. incompetent, sacred vs. profane, Master vs. Teacher, the elect vs. the public, etc, I can go on for a long time, but all of these pairs of opposing terms express this same metaphysical tension between the sacred and the profane; although it must be stated that while these pairs of opposing terms convey essentially the same metaphysical tension, they are not equivalent in either internal dynamic or external domain, and this is why quality vs. quantity and essence vs. substance can be applied in all domains, while most other pairs of opposing terms mentioned may only be applied to their specific domain.
Lastly, in order to understand the metaphysical order of things and why the creation is manifested through layers of ordered and structured domains, one must appreciate the importance of the qualification that each substance has entirely in its own domain, and this order of qualification applies supremely to humanity, and this is why every traditional civilization was essentially hierarchical in its organization, something that moderns find impossible to contend with. Without qualification there is no simply no room for substance to occupy, no spirit to be structured and supported, and no meaning – without quality everything is a veritable chaos. To attempt to seek equality, in light of this, is truly to become the destroyer of the world.
