Idols and Individualism... How current indeed! Yes, today it seems that people have completely forgotten about the ills of idolatry, a subject that I have covered elsewhere. But it is rather interesting that individualism, a fairly recent concept, has swept the world away in all its glory and fantasies about the greatness of the individual, the one individual, the genius, the painter, perhaps the artist... Why should we (moderns) not pay attention to the idol? I mean, after all most of us do not know how to read properly, let alone how to write or compose, read "Notes on Reading", but most of us still manage to garner all sorts of opinions about all sorts of things that we really do not know anything about because we are not qualified to know anything about that stuff, yet we feel freer than ever before to express those opinions, and beyond just that, we are also lazy about it, and perhaps just a little bit proud of that fact, and if not proud we certainly do not ever attempt to become more educated and knowledgeable, read "Knowledge".

    Now, what could explain this state of affairs but idolatry and the idolization of certain "exceptional" individuals, or so-called "influencers"? Then there is the little, nay huge, fact of the matter, that most people are not a little bit ignorant; most people are profoundly ignorant, read "Mechanical Procedures", of true knowledge, and so they have not got the slightest chance of evading the malign influences of Satan, read also "What are Demons?". In this context I should add the history of idols as a quick note, because while it is true that humanity have always been lead astray by idols, it is also truer yet that idols once again are all over the place, and while it may seem that this apparent multiplication of idols points towards nothing and its nothingness, just as it may seem that individualism points to nothing but further division and multiplication in division, it is actually the case that this division and multiplication of idols points towards the homogeneous void of nothingness, of the state below the infra-human state, of the uniformity of our times.

    So yes, of course idols should be and indeed are all over the place; just take a quick look around you and you will find them everywhere. Of course, this rampant idolatry points us towards the ego-centrism of our times, which is actually a rather sad case, and it is also quite curious that a lot of people, often the most egocentric, tend to vastly overestimate their own ability and contribution. Because idols, in this case human idols, tend to be so strong and so convinced in their delusion, it is often the case that most other people around the idol become affected by this delusion as well and in turn become completely unable to see straight, truly blind. This is of course also the case with most Protestant denominations within Christendom: instead of relying on the true word of God, these people found the person and the idol in the cult leader more important, read "My Views on Fundamentalism", that doctrine and scripture, and if the schism in the church began with Martin Luther—the schism actually began far earlier than that—it is now the case that this schism, in truly Biblical fashion, has grown into a vast tree of lies and deceit, and I should add that the Catholic Church itself has also been affected by much of this deceit and by idolatry, read "Temporal Power". It is also the case that while there have always been idols in the human past, they where, as alluded to above, far fewer and actually far less influential*, but besides the historical frequency of idols and idolatry, if something is true about idols, it is their strange behavior, often meant to attract a lot of attention in the first place, and typically this behavior seldom stops as just merely deviated acts, often the idol, when he assumes the position as cult leader, begins to encourage all of his followers and sycophants to do the same; of course, this serves two purposes: to bring more attention to himself (the idol and cult leader), and to encourage the establishment of his kingdom on Earth, in order to destroy the last remnants of true and still visible knowledge, read "My Views on the Unity of the Source". All of these things tend to work to amplify each other, and now the question that may be left is what came first: the hen or the egg, or in this case the cult or the deviation? Well, lucky for us the answer is fairly straight forward: the cult came invariably as a result of the deviation; it had to be in this order that the world developed, form higher to lower principles, and now the world is nearing the bottom, which will almost certainly lead humanity towards a great cataclysm in the not so distant future, of course this would depend on your particular definition of distant.

    Now, there are practical implications of all of these things, including diseases and great pain, but it would have been easier, I suppose, if humanity could learn from her mistakes, but due to the cosmological environment it does seem that this is too much to ask for quite frankly, but I should add that it is not me who is asking here; it is humanity herself who is asking these great questions every day and increasingly so more than just once or twice, or even more than that, a day. Verily, we are dealing with rather important matters here, matters that some may say cannot afford to wait until the next day, in this case the remote future. Perhaps too, this obviousness and lack of knowledge and awareness is good enough as it is, at least if you are ignorant, and if not I guess it is true to say that you truly are lost to history, read "The End of History". At any rate, being aware of the world can make life complicated, but being able to reject idols and idolatry also makes life easier, and I would argue that this actually makes life easier by a larger extent than to what extent it may potentially make life harder. Again, ego-centrism tends to warp the worldview of most people, including both the cult leader and his followers, and the greatest cults of them all are perhaps the material cult, read "Transhumanism". At any rate and regardless of how hard life may be, there is no point in allowing for this nonsense to overtake your mind and infect you, really pollute you, with all sorts of evils. Do not allow this to happen to you!

* The best example of a land of idolatry would be the example provided in the story of Sodom and Gomorrah, Genesis 19. I should also add that with this cult of Satan comes a lot of bizarre and deviated behavior.
