My Last Two Days...
Friday – August 14, 2026

Folks, people, and everyone of interest, my journey in Türkiye is coming to its inevitable end and my life seems rather sad, a point that I shall return to later, but in the meantime I must say that I do feel regret having to leave with a feeling that I did not quite get to explore enough of this country, but then again I have not really explored that much, which is why I am writing much of this post in a somewhat sorrow way. I do not much fancy returning to my humble abode as I do not prefer the country and the state that I live in and under, and for reasons of personal safety I continue to refuse to reveal this part about myself, read "Who Am I". At any rate, I am sad because I know that I cannot remain in the Near East forever, but I actually much fancy many aspects of the Near East, and of course there are certain aspects that I do not fancy as much, for more on this read "Observations About Türkiyie". I should also say that while some people may claim that they miss their so-called home, again most people have a rather amusing way of using that word "home", I actually do not miss my home, for I consider the world my home and if I was to miss my home, then I would have to miss the world, and I do consider the ancient ruins featured in many of my photographies in this series my home, read "A Civilization in Ruins", and in a sense my humble abode, not that I particularly believe that one should be humble about these matters. I suppose as well that it is quite natural to feel sadness, read "Despair", and something bitter about leaving a place that you have been staying in for about ten days so suddenly, because if one thing has been true about Türkiye, it must be that it is a very impractical country, and this goes for the airlines as well. Now, I know that I would have preferred to have travelled by slow cruiser, but no such option was available for this journey, and really I cannot consider it likely that such an enterprise would have been much less messy and impractical. Now, I should not consider myself a very practical person either, but what annoys me the most about Türkiye is the overall and promiscuous mentality of a kind of usury and if not usury a kind of money extraction everywhere. This saddens me and does indeed go to show that a kind of Western mentality is starting to become rooted here, read "In The End" and "Modernity Breaking Through", which indeed is sad but can also be added to the long list of "signs of our times". Now, I should add that there is another reason why I do not miss the place that I have been forced to live in: the politics of that country has driven men to the brink of intrapersonal disintegration, which is the very reason that I was forced out, that I was forced to leave that country behind, and in soon time that country will face complete disaster due to the ills of the political class of that country, but this is a story for another time and for the "Politics & Ideology" section of this blog.
On a lighter note, I have been inspired by the ancients and by the Apollo Temple and the old Amphitheatre, and indeed, as I have stated elsewhere, I can feel the romans or rather I can feel where they would have walked and where they would have made their sacrifices to the God, after all these buildings went up before Rome became Christian, and besides this was a distant corner of the Roman Empire far outside the core, and I expect there to have been some Christians and Jews in this region but also many people holding beliefs and knowledge about things that have almost been completely forgotten today. Yes, this has truly been an inspiration and I am sure to post more of the many images that I have taken in Side in later posts coming up on this blog. Now, I should add that because I only managed to take photographs, read "My Views on Photography and the Camera Obscura", in Side; this is where you should expect my pictures to come from, but again I have taken several hundred pictures of these ancient sites that I have not yet had any time to process and upload here. Now, photographs and images aside, I am happy that I made this trip and I am looking forward to traveling more often and keeping everyone updated on that front; for instance I am planning a trip to the Middle and Far East in the not so distant future, India, Myanmar (frm. Burma), and Thailand to be specific, all countries on my favorite list; of course, I am also thinking about embarking on a trip to Bangladesh, as I am potentially going to learn Bengali, which is a language that is very diverse and actually spoken more widely across India.
Verily, I do like to travel and I think that I should travel more, because it is indeed one thing to read a book about all of these places, but it is quite another thing to actually experience them yourself, and I have thought about updating that list that I linked to above, because I have reached the conclusion that it makes little sense for me to rank each country, not because there is something inherently wrong with ranking countries, but because I am unsure of some of these countries, since I have not visited all of them, I simply believe that it is quite unfair for me to rank them without having actually traveled there, and of course I must admit that indeed the East is calling me, and apropos home, it may be that I am seeking a home in the East, that the Lord is calling on me to move to the East in order to gain strength and in order to get away from my own issues, read my "Personal Notes series". Of course, this all may still be too early to tell, but the East is still more vibrant than the West and its depressing and depraved attitude. Then there is the added economic problem with traveling across the world, and this is why I may or may not open some kind of account where you (my readers) can send me donations, at this point I refuse to put up ads here, that could be used for traveling across the globe, because if one thing is clear, it is, for it must be so, the West is too depraved.
Have I revealed my location by asserting how depraved the West is? Of course not, it could be that I am a martian and that I live on the South Pole of Marsh. Of course I live somewhere in the Western world, but this is all that I will reveal here, and I may or may not reveal my more precise location in a later post. Again, I am not currently interested in doing this (revealing my location) because I am concerned with my own physical safety, and also because I prefer to not appear biased, read "Navigating the Information Landscape". Now go be a hero or not – the decision is yours.
