In the end there was to be a Republic, and the old Empire was but a memory, and so on the sands of history was imprinted the footstep, the memory, of Atatürk and the newly inaugurated state, today a century old. Indeed, Türkiye is approaching the fate of France, the United States, Britain, Germany, etc fast, and on top of this there is today a movement calling for Türkiyes admission into the European movement, and there are even men who are going further still, by calling on Türkiye to be considered a part of Europe. What would these fever dreams of liberal democracy among the youth do to the core of the Turkish nation, that which has been set apart, declared, and defined as the Turkish nation? Is it the intention of the European friendly people to seek to abolish the Turkish identity and to allow for such things as mass migration, read "The Problem of Immigration"? And even on the point of Islam: if you actually consider yourself liberal and minded in a European sense, what is then to say that there are not going to be great floods of foreigners streaming across your borders, such has happened to all of these liberally and socially minded countries at the core of European civilization? It seems to me that this is a great mistake, but that in the end there may be very little that can be done about this.

    Now, this is not the first post about Türkiye, I am still on vacation here, were I have been gloomy and perhaps somewhat depressed, but my purpose is not to be sad about Türkiye, and in fact I am actually happy to have been able to visit here before the storm, and I should reveal that this is not my first occasion in Türkiye: back in 2013 I visited İstanbul (formerly known as Constantinople) and back in 2013 these signs were perhaps even more visible, and this is why I should extend a certain amount of Kudos to the current conservative, read "My Views on Conservatism", government here in Türkiye, for they have been able to temporarily halt this adverse development, and perhaps to some extend inadvertently. But I believe that the actions of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan have been righteous and necessary for the general Turkish temperament; further than this I will not go, as it is not my purpose and intention to delve into the sensitive politics of this country or any other country. Again, the spirit in the Near East was at one point rather secular, and then the calls for Jihad and the imposition of sacred laws changed that, momentarily, and today we are living in the shadow of this development, for the younger generations have been manipulated, as they always are, by the serpent. Now, it is all too easy for me to proclaim these matters as if I did not need proof on my side, but for one moment consider why it is that the Near East has been such a focus point since the end of WWI, and perhaps further back than that? Is it only because of the Suez Canal and the Oil, or is there perhaps something else lurking here, lurking in the shadows? I think that you may be able to construed the answer by way of conjecture if you only allow yourself to consider the disastrous wars in Iraq (Mesopotamia) and Afghanistan, read "My Views on Western Intervention"; if anything they proved once and for all that the messianic liberal fantasy was not to be, even though most liberals of course still refuse to see this, and they are only willing to invoke these wars in a hysterical populism aimed to prove some nonsense point on the budget or some fantasy about their own suffocation, when in fact they are leading a live of complete independence and solidification, when in fact they have become completely denatured. Their, the liberals, argument tends to be universal, which is perhaps their main problem, and they are proven wrong time and time again, which may be amusing, but is starting to get tiring. Look, I understand that certain people "just want to be left alone", but you see, you cannot be left alone. Now, I refuse to get into more political arguments here, but again this issue is pressing here in Türkiye as well as in the Near East at large, which is a contribution to my gloomy view of the future.

    I suppose too that young people tend to be very liberal, and this is a sign that of the mutation of ideas that I referred to the other day: it began as an idea, perhaps a theory of the mind, and now it has mutated and is starting to metastasise into more and more of society, really I am referring to a kind of infiltration that is aimed at subversion and inversion, inversion of the natural order, read "Hierarchy", and for this observation without the call to action we are referred to as the forces of the "reaction" by these same revolutionaries. Whatever it is that you may be trying to hang onto, you may as well drop it, because you will not be able to keep it, and if you still try to keep it, you will be punished for it, but again this is why you must seek redemption beyond hope. Young people on the other hand, do not appear to mind losing their place, and perhaps this is due to the fact that they actually lack a proper place; I suppose too that we may be dealing with a kind of rage of the entitled here, especially now since most young people are so entitled and so full of themselves, but this is also not a new issue. I suppose those cultural mutations are most visible in young people, as revolutionaries tend to be young and naïve, and above all idealistic, read "My Views on the Efficacy of Ideas". It was never my intention to come across as to harh, but these things simply did not "order themselves", and so I had to make a comment about them, which is the whole point of this blog at the end of the day. Not that I suppose that I want to engage in a kind of exercise in free expression and free inquiry.

    Perhaps, I have been somewhat unclear in this post and in some others, but again it was not my intention of engaging in free inquiry, because that in particular tends to lead to a lot of empty talk which is something that has characterized this post and some others in this series; I suppose that I lack concreteness. Now, my journey here in Türkiye is coming to an end, but more for that later.
