Enemies... How do you deal with them? Well, I am unable at this time to make too many broad or specific, for that matter, claims about how to handle them, and it is of course true that each situation having to do with enemies being involved in one way or another is highly specific, which makes generalizations somewhat deaf and specifications, if you will, or qualifications out of harmony. So again, there can be no single way, for the most part at any rate, in which you should deal with enemies, but one thing that I can assert to be true: is that you do have enemies. This fact is actually a somewhat complicated matter, because often you may be strolling down the street not knowing that you have enemies, because you see, you are not privy to all your enemies; it is not the case that you get to choose your enemies. Truly ask yourself this: would you create enemies for no good reason, and really would you put yourself in circumstances that would make it necessary for you to end up with enemies? Also, that last question narrows the domain somewhat, since situations in which it has become necessary for you to create enemies are also situations in which you are aware, in most cases, of your enemies. Once you have been made aware of your enemies, only then may you move to some kind of action, only then are you able to move away from contemplation into action, but that also, I should add, requires a proper understanding of the skills involved in the Bodhichitta. If you are unskilled, then you are unqualified, but it may be the case that you are unqualified but skilled, and this would, for the most part, pertain to the corporeal domain, but certifiably not to the martial arts or any other form of combat that requires proper skills that go beyond the worldly. Why do you think that meditation and deep contemplation are necessary for the novice? Only the master is capable of both qualities, and yes these are qualities that have to be earned and a lot of men are simply not able to learn them. On the other hand, dealing with enemies is not only about being able, at the righteous time, to engage in combat and inspired action: for the most part dealing with enemies has very little to do with the physical, and I have covered such aspects in previous posts, such as in this post about "How to deal with the insane" and this post about "Profiling".
Essentially, there are many things that have to come together before you can move to deal with an issue in a righteous manner, but then there are also many material issues in your way: take for instance my posts about rule breaking and "black bag operations", they typically collide with the law, unless you know what you are doing. Besides, in many jurisdictions, it may actually be illegal for you to deal with your enemies, even in prayer. So, how do you get around the law? Well, I do not recommend that you attempt to "get around the law", but what I am attempting to highlight is the fact that even if you are righteous and even if you are called upon, the world will get in your way, and this is why you are going to be better of not dealing with your enemies, and that may sound cowardly, but how can it be cowardly if you have no choice? If you are attempting to defend yourself in righteously inspired action against some thug or against some bum, but in accordance with the law of the land, you are criminal for moving against a threat? Why is it that people who are evil tend to have more "right" than people who are less evil? Well, since I do not intend to dwell with politics here, I am simply going to refuse to answer much of that question, but can add this: when the primordial doctrine descended down to the Earth at the beginning of time, at the beginning of the cycle, there was no need for any kind of justification; there was no reason given for the righteous victory over the wicked, and this was not considered some kind of "witchcraft"; this was the law of the land, the divine law. It would quite rightly be considered monstrous to not move against evil, at least for most of humanity, or rather for most of the manifestation of the world; the insanity going on today has only been expressed for a very short amount of time, but still enough damage has been done.
This is why I still believe that the only path has to be pacific; truly it appears that this would be the only sound way in the modern world, but this also creates some complications, and indeed it does put you in situations where you are going to need to simply walk away. It would also be easy for me to suggest that you should not create enemies, but again, you do not get to choose your enemies, at least not for the most part, and indeed the world is truly an ugly place these days, uglier than it has been ever before. But do not the confusion and disease allow you to lose your strength or your vital essence, because you see only then will you fall, only then will you lose. Indeed, once you allow your enemies to "get into your head", often rent free, you will lose. The greatest tragedy is that of self betrayal, and when you hate your enemy, you are betraying yourself. Do not do this! Well, you should do it if your goal is to move away from the source, and do also notice that most modern people actually are quite happy to move further and further into the darkness of the abyss, but these people are of course fools that do not know. This brings me to another point: knowledge is essential, and even more so when dealing with enemies; allow them to deal with you, and allow them to self-destruct; this is the most prodigious manner in which you can deal with your enemies.
Then there are of course doctrines within the dark that could be used against your enemies, but of these I can only tell you one thing: DO NOT TOUCH THEM! Do not allow the serpent to play you! If you engage with the dark, if you allow yourself to sink into the abyss, then you may be lost forever, for you will have entered a darkness so deep that you will lose the sight of the light, and you may never emerge out of that darkness again. Besides, this kind of "dark magic" is quite evil and quite satanic: would you allow the devil to take care of your "problems" for the price of your soul? If you would, then you are not enlightened, and you are about to enter onto a course that, unless steered away from, will lead to your complete spiritual ruination. Why do you believe so many modern men are so full of deceit and self-hatred? What are the forces tormenting them? Indeed, talk about disintegration.
