Recovery, Party 1 – Freestyle

Recovery, Part 1 |

Now that I am in recovery from my surgery I must tell you now that I am somewhat affected by medications that will act to alter my perceptions of the world, and currently it is somewhat difficult for me to keep up with the world, and so bear with me. I expect to be able to recover to 80% of my strength within about two days, at which time I plan on starting up with my usual writing schedule. Again, in the meantime do bear with me and do understand that I may have some difficulties here in the coming days. Of course, I am in some pain, but the medications work to remove most of the pain, which is the point of the medication. Again, my perceptions may sometimes be altered by the medication which is why I may end up rambling more than usual in these posts, but I will do my best to not come across as too much under the influence, read "Are Imagination Enhancers Good?". Now, it is certainly not my style to be too affected by medications and I do not like it, but it is still preferable to the pain. Now, the pain tends to come and go, and so it is not always that bad, which is good, which is good. After a surgery, the body does tend to be in a small amount of shock and so that itself can also cause some pain, and one of the things that happened to me was that I ended up with a lot of shoulder pain. Of course, I did not undergo shoulder surgery and so the surgeon explained to me that pain in the shoulders after a gallbladder removal is not uncommon, as this is the body reacting and now it has to recover from the reaction, and so while my body is attempting to reach some kind of new equilibrium post surgery, pain of this sort (of this kind) may be expected. Again, do excuse my ramblings. I will not ramble like this in future posts; this is a temporary side effect of my recovery.

    Also, this is a personal note, I am somewhat annoyed by all of the Christmas commercials out there, and it is only late October at the moment; note that these commercials are running because of the current reign of quantity, read René Guénon. If you are not annoyed by this detail, then good, but for me this is more than a mere detail, and the obnoxious thing about it is that most of these corporations seem to expect us to simply comply with their view of the world, but I do not comply with this view of the world; I simply refuse. Besides, I do not generally celebrate Christmas because I find that Christmas to be a vapid and commercialized holiday celebrated by people who have no true sense of tradition. Yes, if you want to celebrate Christmas, then this is not something that I wish to take away from you, but do please understand that you are celebrating money and not much more, and besides there is no real evidence that Jesus of Nazareth (יְהוֹשֻׁעַ) was born on the Christmas Day, December 25th. Again, in the post that I linked to above I explain these facts in much greater detail and so I will not go on about this today, but it is interesting how modern people tend to misunderstand these things and how short memory they have, read "The End of History". Anyhow, it is not my intention to make this recovery process harder than what it is, and so I do not wish to go off on tangents here and there without any clear connection to what I am writing about, but of course when it comes to these "freestyle" posts, the styling is free for a reason.

    On a different personal note: I was supposed to head out to an "alternative" exhibition today, as I am writing this, but of course this could not happen today, and as a result I will have to postpone writing about this exhibition, which was my plan to begin with. I am taking a certain interest in alternative and "new age" modalities, but I am also under no illusion about these things, but it would still have been rather interesting to have been able to have gone out there to see it for myself, but I will have to do this at another time, read "Pseudoscience". Now, I should clarify that much of these "new age" people are not malefic in their intent, not at all, but they are still mistaken, read as well "Mesmerism".

    Apart from everything I missed out today, I guess that it truly is autumn right now which could be thought of as quite depressing I suppose, but depressing it is and depressing it will stay, but this is not the first autumn for me, and I suppose not the first autumn for most people who may be reading this page. Now, it is also true that some of my readers, such as those from the Southern Hemisphere, are entering the summer or spring season at the moment, which is actually a different point of view: it is not the case that everything must revolve around the old continent. Well, if by "the old continent" you mean Europe of course, but then we have the Americas to consider as well, the New World. Now, in much of Latin America, South America at any rate, I suppose their conception of summer and autumn is quite different as well, and then the North Americans have what they call the "fall" instead of the "autumn". Well, I do not care what you call it, but it is clearly the case that these natural cycles will affect people's mood, just as well as almost anything else, and here I am not referring to my own pain killers. Anyhow, this was a rambling post mostly because I have been somewhat tired writing this, but I am starting to get back to the world and I think that in the coming days that I will be able to get back to a more sensible writing schedule, but it may still be too early to tell; at any rate I must allow myself to recover. I believe  too that perhaps I should change my writing schedule, but more on that later as it is too early to tell at this point, but it may be necessary for me to simply cut down and out on certain things that I may have mentioned in the past.

    I should also mention that it is the UN day, read "The State of Geopolitics", not that I care much for this occasion, but I do care for peace and I can only still hope that there is peace ahead. It is simply not my practice to observe dates, which I mentioned about Christmas above, but sure if people could use this to perhaps ponder about peace, then so be it, read "On Disarmament". Anyhow, these were some of my thoughts today.
