Why are Most People Ugly?
Sunday – May 17, 2026

In our disturbed times ugliness seems to permeate every corner of the world, and yes people are truly ugly, loud, self-centered, and offensive. Why is this? Well, there are many reasons, but I would be remiss if I, again, did not once again assert that individualism is the main cause for this, but then again, individualism is just the most exoteric expression of the deviation, and must therefore be understood in the context of the cyclical order, but of course for most modern men, even the ones who claim to oppose individualism, everything is always compartmentalized and each problem is supposed to be solved in some kind of superimposed isolation, because these people lack skills and above all they lack knowledge; when a man lacks skills, when he lacks knowledge, he does become truly ugly.
It is also the case that people are physically uglier these days because they are offensive, and I suppose that pointing this out would break the code of political correctness: the fact is that most people are ugly, stupid and ignorant, because they are misplaced, read "Hierarchy", and when a man exists in a state outside of his proper modality he is lost on the high seas and on the high seas he cannot but become a monster, something that was illustrated by the ancient Greeks in the "Rape of Proserpina", see the picture above. Yes, what else should or could be expected of modern men? After all, the least you should expect is ugliness, since only the loudest and least qualified voices are heard and amplified, read "Democracy" and "Sentimentalism". Since the loudest and ugliest people are continually put at the forefront of humanity, it would be expected that most people would aim for this kind of offensive and wayward modality, and indeed most people have a low mentality to begin with, and today there is nothing for most people to aspire to either, in a metaphysical sense that is, which only serves to make the problem much worse. But again, physical ugliness means something: it means that modern men value function, quantity, practicality, and short term gain above all else, just compare the beauty in old cathedrals to the ugliness of modern architecture. Truly, life lived in an ugly world is a tragedy, for men are simply not moved to God in this desert. Really, one of the worst things that you could possibly do to men that are already downtrodden is to remove any sense of sacred enchantment in the world, for this was the role that beauty once served, but it has almost been completely stripped away. But then again, people themselves are also ugly: today people are fat, diabetic, diseased, and lazy, truly ugly; but this did not use to always be the case, read "Beauty", because in the past the vigor of life based in something truly sacred uplifted men to higher dimensions, and as a result people became truly beautiful, but this is hardly the case anymore. But why should people strive for beauty in a world that is so ugly? Depression, disease, and lazy cynicism is everywhere, but the light is hardly to be found anywhere, especially not in the Western world.
There are, of course, also profane explanations for all of this, and the fact that people are so addicted to all sorts of things certainly do play a role in this, but the metaphysical explanation does not require isolation, read "The Problem of Borders", but it would, for the most part, be sufficient to only look at ugliness from a profane point of view, but then again it would not be sufficient to look at the possible solutions to this from a merely profane point of view. Besides, are men that blind themselves to the profane not really just refusing to see the world for what it is? Again, it is not quite possible for me to answer this question, but I will say this: beware of all the beauty that still has not been stripped away from you, because this beauty is revealing; it is revealing because most men who still value beauty will only understand this beauty from a purely practical and functional perspective. To illustrate this point: why is there a probable difference between a painting and a photograph depicting the same object? The painting, if done right by a qualified artisan, is beautiful and a true masterpiece, while the photograph does nothing but capture a highly defined reflection of the world as it is in a given moment. Photography is no art and requires no kind of qualification and no photograph is, nor can it ever be qualified, as a masterpiece, besides the photograph does not tell us about anything, since anyone with their own peculiar ways and subjectivity may interpret it in whatever way suits them in whatever moment, read "The End of History". The crude and overt ugliness is perhaps the most offensive, and this kind of ugliness is actually ugly on purpose, because the histrionic attitude of most people, read "Urban Survival", today makes it impossible for beauty to flourish, unless someone deliberately resists this urge to destroy, read "Destruction". Then there is another and more sensual aspect as well: people do not value beauty in others, read "relationships", because they instead value the flesh, something that indeed most fundamentalists tend to be keen to point out, yet these same fundamentalists, read "The Hypocrisy of the Pious", also fail to understand why people value the flesh before the light.
All of these points hold true even if you only care about the corporeal aspects: most people are indeed ugly, because most people are ugly; most buildings are ugly, because the principles of sacred geometry have been abandoned, and so forth, lest list can, of course, be made very long. Another uncomfortable truth is that most average people are in fact ugly, stupid, and above all evil... Verily, even if most movies, read "Directing Films", only cater to the lowest common denominator, this is only a sign in and of itself of the above points – everything is truly ugly and is only getting more and more ugly. Life in this world will only become harsher and harsher, until the rupture, read "Disintegration" and "Transhumanism". If you wish to not be ugly – you must retire from the world!
